Who God Is: Behold Him
Before we ask what God wants us to do, what if we begin with a more wonderful question: Who is this God who has made Himself known to us?
The Creator of heaven and earth has not left us to guess at His character. He has spoken through His Word. From His own description of Himself to Moses to the worship surrounding His throne in Revelation, Scripture invites us to behold His holiness, compassion, wisdom, power, justice, and steadfast love.
I’ve gathered fifteen Scripture passages into an encouraging devotional, with each passage printed in full from the New American Standard Bible 1995. Each reading includes a reflection, a question to pause over, and a brief prayer. A closing reflection and prayer invite us to respond with reverence, gratitude, trust, and worship.
There is no schedule to keep and nothing to rush. Read slowly, notice the setting of each passage, and return to the verses as often as you need. My hope is that you leave wanting to know Him more—and finding greater strength for the journey in who He is.
